Using AT&T Hotspot for my internet connection

Just moved to Texas and happy to be hear.  I had UVERSE before but is not available in my very rural property.  Right now all I have is a hotspot from my AT&T iPhone 8+.

It's horrible, on speed test I consistently get 0.6 - 0.9 download and 2.6 - 3.3 upload.  I have two bars if I stick my phone in the south window and understand I can get 5 bars if I purchase a cell signal booster.   I just don't understand how many Mbps I will get with five bars.   Can you answer this question for me?

Larry

Thanks

Hi, @sherfieldl,

What a great question! The answer as to your data speed if you can get five bars on your hotspot isn't cut and dried.  It can depend on how many people are also pulling on the signal, as well as other factors.

We'd love to investigate the wireless signal in your area for you. To do so, we'll need to take this conversation private. We are sending you a private message (PM) to help in this matter. Please check your forums private messages by clicking the Forums Inbox. Locate the PM from ATTCares and reply to the message with your specific account details.
