UVerse internet is too slow

I'm getting 3 mbps which is what my plan is. However it is way too slow. ATT won't upgrade the lines or equipment in my area due to costs. It's so slow i can't upload & email pics from my wireless phone. Now it appears it's also interferring with my Directv when i rewind a program to watch. ATT says that should not be a issue, but DTV says it is. I'm in the middle here. I get involved in the blame game. I'm so frustrated i'm almost ready to switch to Comcast. ATT just blows me off. That is frustrating as well. I can't get ATT to provide the support i need. DTV is sending a tech out tomorrow. DTV says they are still indenpendent of ATT, they can't tell ATT their speed is too slow. They said they have a lot of issues with the NVG510 modem. ATT was going to replace it for a feee, i said no. I got transferred to 2 other people, one was about ready to send a new modem but i got a 3rd rep. After doing a speed test he said the modem was fine. Again i'm the middle man, the customer. I just need support from ATT, and can't get it.

A Directv tech was out this morning. He said the issue with buffering is my Uverse internet speed of 3.0. Directv recommends at least 5, ATT says i can't get more than 3 due to i'm too far away. Ok, so how does ATT plan on resolving this?

Why do you expect that AT&T will resolve this?

Why shouldn't they?

Why should they?  How can they?  Do you think they just withold bandwidth from customers to whom it would be easy and cheap to provide?

Who can I contact at ATT? I'm in the middle here. I'm happy with ATT& Dtv. I just need to know who can tell me who is right on my speed for Dtv to work properly. Dtv says they don't have a way of telling attached my speed is too slow. ATT owns Dtv now but they operate separate.

After talking with att & dtv they said 3mbps is just enough for dtv. However the slow speed is the cause of buffering, speed in my area is not going to increase. While talking with the dtv case Mgr I ask about 4k progrmming. He said there were some movies in 4k but no other programming. He went on to say my users ever Internet would not support 4k, maybe I could d/l a movie but that would be the only way. When 4k programming becomes more popular in will switch from att userse if it doesn't support 4k.

Don't think 4K HD is going to do much of anything.  The fact they are working on 8K UHD now.  How many production companies are going to spend $$$ for 4K HD, when recently they spent $$$$ on HD upgrades and $$ on 3 D TV flop?

Uverse has no plans about 4k HD.  Besides tests have shown you only see the difference between HD and 4K HD from the TV to 2', after that the human eye can't differentiate between the two.

Have a hunch 8K UHD will suffer the same 'human eye' problem. 😉
