Cannot verrify auto-forwarding email address with Yahoo Mail Plus for AT&T

I have an @bellsouth.net email address with AT&T that I would like to auto-forward to a new email address.

I signed up for Yahoo Mail Plus for AT&T to enable the auto-forwarding feature.

I have gone to Settings > Mailboxes > and entered my my new email address to auto-forward to, which needs to be "verified".

I click "Verify".

I successfully get the email to verify

I click the "click here" link in the email to verify.

I am redirected to a Yahoo sign-in page where I enter my @bellsouth.net email address and click "Next":

I am then redirected to this page:

It has been three days since I started trying to forward my email, and I am still getting the error above.

I likewise signed up for Yahoo Mail Plus for AT&T to enable the auto-forwarding feature (which cost $5/month also).

I am having exactly the same problem with a sbcglobal.net email. AT&T says it is not their problem. Yahoo mail says it is not their problem. The screen shots above are accurate to what I have been experiencing as well.

Thanks for reaching us @SLSYCLA.

We understand your concern regarding Auto forwarding feature on Yahoo Mail Plus. Let's point you in the right direction.

Since AT&T and Yahoo have teamed up to bring you Yahoo Mail Plus. Yahoo Mail Plus troubleshooting steps are limited from AT&T's end. As a result, we recommend that you contact Yahoo's support team for further assistance.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to write back to us.

Thank you.

I appreciate your response but contacting Yahoo support gets you absolutely nowhere. I have spoken to three different people, including asking for a supervisor (to no avail; never available; always on anther call, etc). Each and everyone of these three people at Yahoo support told me to contact AT&T and then they give you the AT&T sales number. This is a serious problem for our organization.

A large part of the problem here is that AT&T apparently agreed to take on e-mail support for their customers as part of their deal with Yahoo for e-mail handling.  Then promptly forgot to tell their support organization the terms of that deal.  However, Yahoo mail plus is a paid feature of Yahoo's, and you're paying Yahoo, so Yahoo should be supporting it.  So, normally, I'd be blasting the AT&T support finger pointing, but in this particular case, I have to side with them... Yahoo needs to support their paid Yahoo Mail Plus feature... or quit offering it.  Or are you not paying Yahoo directly for Yahoo Mail Plus?

Hi @SLSYCLA, thank you for your response. We understand your concern. Let's get the help you need.

We recommend that you try resetting your mail account's password, this will help to resync the data with the servers that could fix the issue:

  1. Go to reset your password.
  2. Enter your user ID and the last name associated with your ID.
  3. Choose your verification method and follow the prompts.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password.

You can also try accessing your email account on the web:

  1. Go to currently.com.
  2. Select Mail.
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. Get your authentication security code. If you have more than one phone number on your account, choose which number should get your code.
  5. Enter the code and click Submit to sign in.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

@harrisil , I just got confirmation from some internal contacts that Yahoo Mail Plus support must be handled by Yahoo, even for AT&T customers.  So don't take "no" for an answer from Yahoo on Mail Plus issues like forwarding, it's their baby.  It's fair for Yahoo to say "talk to AT&T" about authentication/login problems, but not this.

Same issue as @harrisil . The problem is - if I try to contact Yahoo support - it tells me I need to pay for it. REALLY?
Okay - so I go to sign up and see what the damage is and I get:

"We're sorry, but your account is not eligible for this subscription. Please sign in using another yahoo account to continue your transaction. "

So I can't even pay for support (I am in the US if it matters) which probably would not help me anyways.
Totally stuck.

Same exact issue.  Same exact experience with support on both sides. Has anyone found a fix. @sbcglobal.net account. I am paying for Yahoo mail plus to utilize this utility. Yahoo should fix as it is there product.  But the error page you receive after clicking the link to verify is an att site.  It appears to be a joint verification issue to me with the signin communication between the two firms. The "script" on the verification link fails as it communicates between Yahoo and ATT.

I just signed up for Yahoo Mail Plus today and experienced the exact same issue. I'm in the 15 day free trial period, so I'm going to cancel this subscription if the issue isn't resolve before the trial period ends.
