Changing yahoo password without att.net (2024)

Every time I try to change my yahoo password, I am directed to my att.  There, I can change the password for my att accounts, but that doesn't change my yahoo mail password at all.  How can I get around the att requirement and simply change the yahoo password?

To change your password for an e-mail address that doesn't end in an AT&T domain, you'll probably either need to clear your cookies or open your brower in "incongnito" or "private browsing" mode, so that your stored cookies telling them you have an AT&T account aren't sent to Yahoo.

Hi @jjn283

We understand your concern. Let's get the help you need.

We recommend If you know your password, you can change your password here

For additional help on changing you AT&T Access ID, please refer to How to Reset your Email Password using myAT&T for a step-by-step walkthrough of the process.

If it's just a Yahoo account not linked to ATT in any way, you can change the password on your Yahoo! account by using Yahoo!’s Password Helper wizard or by following these steps:

  1. Go to your Yahoo! Account Security Info, where you can change your password or remove your security questions.
  2. Click Account Security.
  3. Click Change password.

Enter and confirm your new password and click Continue. You will receive a confirmation appears.

     4. Click Continue to finish.
