cannot access my Bellsouth.net

I cannot access my bellsouth.net account. When I sign in, it seems to recognize my password and shows me my name and zip code, but wants me to update my profile to add a mobile number. I add my number, hit submit, receive the code, enter the code, then get a page telling me there was a problem updating my profile & my cell is not a AT&T phone. When I try to move on by hitting continue, or going directly to the webmail address, I end back at the login screen.
