Cannot get Mail - password has disappeared and cannot add new one to subaccount

Yesterday at about 1 pm I lost access to my email. When I went to refresh my inbox I got this error message:

Cannot Get Mail

No password provided for “Yahoo”

I went to Settings on my iPhone and realized that the password has disappeared. I would try re-adding my password on my iPhone, but I can’t remember what it was.

My email is set up as a sub account to my husband’s (the User ID is his email address). Attempts to reset my password take me to his email and I do not want to change his password.

I called AT&T support and worked with someone who ultimately just led me to the web form to fill out to reach the password recovery group. It has been almost 24 hours and I have not been contacted.

What can I do to restore a password to this sub account?

Hi @schoolgirl06! Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand that you're facing issue accessing your AT&T mail account. We hear you, and are happy to assist you.

Please try resetting your mail account's password.

  1. Go to reset your password.

  4. Enter and confirm your new password.

You can also try accessing your email account on the web:

  1. Go to currently.com.
  2. Select Mail.
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. Get your authentication security code. If you have more than one phone number on your account, choose which number should get your code.
  5. Enter the code and click Submit to sign in.

Also, please visit our webform - att.com/myemailinfo. This website will allow you you to provide information about your AT&T email account.

You must provide at least 5 answers in the mandatory fields. Fields include:

Thanks for the response. Can’t do “reset your password” because that asks for the User ID and then, as I said, changes my husband’s password. I have a sub account. Can’t use option #2, because (as I said) I can’t remember my password. I did fill out the web form yesterday - I was told today that it could take that group 3-5 days to respond. Don’t want to seem ungrateful, but that time frame is a bit unacceptable- can’t imagine that anyone at AT&T would want to be without email for 5 days. So…I guess I’ll have to wait and see.
