Forced password reset on my table but not my desktop PC

I have used my sbcglobal.net email for decades on my desktop PC without problem. I also had been using an Amazon Fire tablet without problem for 3 years. I recently updated the tablet with a new one. Now, every time I try to look at my email on the tablet, it does not recognize the logon, and then forces me to reset the password. I then can access my mail. If I then go back to my desktop, I have the same problem, and have to go through a password reset on IT. Through some experimenting, I realized that the problem seems to really be related to the tablet. If I do not use it, things work fine on the desktop and I remain logged in for 2 weeks. Note also that when I do the password reset, I do not actually change the password, but I keep reusing the same one over and over because it does not check to see that I actually change the password. But I think that this is not relevant to the problem.

We understand and would be glad to help you get your email issue sorted out.

We'd recommend that you create a secure mail key, where you can login without entering the password.

I tried this on my tablet and it worked. Thanks for this help. I would still like to try and figure out why my password stopped working. I forgot to mention in my problem description above, that the original AT&T account was not in my name. It was in my wife's name, and we added me as a user to that account. Every time I have had to reset the password, it reset it for both my account and my wife's account. Again, the password stopped working, seemingly out of the blue after working just fine for years.
