I cannot download my email using Thurnderbird 115.11.1 and Win 11 Home

When I try to 'get messages' I receive this error:  Sending of password for user [email scrubbed] did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.

It's been like this for 4 hours already.  What does this error mean? Can I fix it from here?

It looks like that AT&T didn't want to accept my secure mail key anymore.  I went into my account and created a new one and I was able to download my POP messages.  Here is the link to the KB to create a Secure Mail Key:  https://www.att.com/support/article/email-support/KM1240308  You might want to try a new key and see if it works.  It worked for me.  :)
