sbcglobal.net email

I am unable to access my sbcglobal.net email account on my desktop.  Whenever I log in, I get a "Let's update your profile" message, I enter my cell number, submit, receive a code to verify who I am, then the number I just entered is erased and I'm asked again to update my profile.  And round and round it goes.

Hello @tractorlady,

Thank you for reaching out to us, and we are here to help you.

We want you to choose the type of device or client they'd like to set up or update in the set-up your AT&T email or update your email settings page.

  • If you don't find the email client, you need to know how to access the settings within the client. Have to access their settings in the Email Client and update with the correct Post Office Protocol (POP) and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server settings listed in the AT&T Email POP settings and AT&T Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) server settings.
    • The AT&T SMTP servers require authentication.
    • Select My outgoing server settings (SMTP) requires authentication to email via a mail client.
  • If you'd like to use IMAP, make sure you're providing the correct Mail Port server settings.

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you.
Mike, AT&T Community Specialist.

Thank you for responding, but your answer is way above my head.  I was in yahoo mail, having given a valid usercode/password.  I finally got some help from your help desk, but I don't know what he did.  I was just glad to get out of that update loop.  The screens had no X to close them out and go on with email.
