Stuck in AT&T Email Login Loop (att.net -> Yahoo Mail -> Nowhere)

I need access to my [email]@att.net account since it is my recovery email for my other accounts. Every time I go to att.net, it redirects me to https://currently.att.yahoo.com/, where I log in with my credentials. However, instead of taking me to my account, it then redirects me to login.yahoo.com. So here I am, and I attempt to log in with my same att.net account, and the following happens: reCaptcha and then I get

Enter verification code

You'll get an email at [email]@att.net if it's linked to your account.

So how do I get into this account???

I am INCREDIBLY frustrated because without this recovery email, I am losing access to two other emails. I did not know that AT&T would just decide to never let me log into my email again with 0 notice. I have called AT&T support, where I was asked to give remote access to my computer and I promptly refused. I have already tried resetting my password, trying to login through att.com and pressing access my email which again takes me to Yahoo, I have tried every combination of pressing different options when logging in, some which lead to Yahoo, some which lead to "we can't seem to log you in right now".

If this att.net account was really a Yahoo one, why is this not being forwarded to a linked account? What are these oversights by AT&T? Can someone please help with this, my final semester of college just started and the email that this email is the recovery one for is my primary and I need access to it ASAP. Thank you so much!

The solution was to call AT&T DAC number 1 (800) 288-2020 and have them re-sync the email account on their end. Hope this saves someone eventually.

Hi,

I have already tried those methods, and just retried them right now. The behavior is the same.

 Best,

Hey @TanmayK, we understand that you’re facing issue with accessing your email. We’re here to help.

We recommend resetting your email password. This can re-sync your account and potentially let you back in.

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Once you're signed in, be sure to update your security questions and answers and set up text messages for password resets, in case you forget your password in the future.

Let us know if you were able to sign in, or if you still need assistance.

I also attempted that and successfully changed my password, but still cannot log in and it takes me through the exact same process. I saw something somewhere about someone mentioning that the att.net email has to be re-synced by AT&T support, would there be any way to escalate this to get their attention? Calling has not proven to help. Thank you.

No error codes. Exactly what is described in the link happens to me. My AT&T account in the att.com portal says unverified and I have no clue how it became in that state but how am I supposed to get the verification code to verify my account if it literally won’t let me log in without the verification code? I need my account to be verified manually by AT&T support or some other solution.
