Sub email account password

One of my sub email accounts cannot send nor receive. I’ve gone into the sub account area but to change the password I need to know the old password. Suggestions?

Thanks for reaching us @DenaVal.

We see that you are unable to send or receive emails. Let's get the assistance you require.

Start by resetting your password, which may help resolve the problem.

Check if you may have blocked either their email address or domain extensions (for example, com, org, net). Check if you have the Blocked Addresses feature enabled.

If no erroneous blocks were found, or no blocked addresses exist, check the filters. You may have created email filters.

There may be a filter with simply a period or comma. You may not see it, but any email with a comma or period falls into the filter rules. Thoroughly check all filters.

Let us know how it goes. We're here to help!

Thank you.

Hi there,

We get it, and let's point you in the right direction.

The Community Forums are a public support option where other users, and AT&T, will try and assist with high level support needs. This means we won’t be able to look into account specific concerns.  To get the help you need for your unique issue, please review our Contact Us page , and choose the best option to reach out to us.  You can call, chat, or reach out via social media, and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  If you feel your issue isn’t account specific, and can be answered generally, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you.

My sub account tells me you need to update your own information before you can change or add a sub account.  When I get to my information it has been the same with no changes for 30 years, other than changing passwords.  I went to my information and the only thing missing is a cell phone #.  If that is the problem, it is a shame that I have to purchase a cell phone to be able to work with my sub accounts.  The only reason for me needing a cell phone would be to be able to use something I already pay for.  The privilege of have a U-verse account with a Telephone that is VOIP and not Cell. I refuse to get a cell I do not need.  You are refusing me the use of a new sub account because you want to go with cell phone service and do away with Land lines.  I will not go willing to a phone I have to charge and pay more for than my landline and that will not work when the cell tower is down.  This is what I feel has happened with the baloney that you are able to have 20 sub account with only 10 working at one time.  I have 6 and tried to add another and can add it but not use it so I will be looking to moving all of my services which with all my retiree benefits cost me $245.74 a month.  I know I  can get better service and deals for less than I am pay right now for ATT.
