554 5.7.9 message not received for policy reasons
I'm moving the email distribution system for a 501(3c) non-profit organization to MailChimp to help simplify news letters. There are about 723 emails and all but 55 email addresses are sent successfully - all 55 email addresses that fail are from att.net and sbcglobal.net - the error message is
reason: 554 5.7.9 Message not accepted for policy reasons. See https://senders.yahooinc.com/error-codes
What needs to be done to allow these email address to receive the emails from MailChimp?
Thank you
Dan

Thanks - I've been there - I understand that MailChimp can be used for junk mail, but it's also used by many others to send bulk emails to people that have subscribed to the service. All of the emails that I have are members of the 501(3c) and have requested to be on the emails. The only email services that bounce are att.net and sbcglobal.net - so my question is what do I need to tell the people that use that service what is needed to unblock it.
Thanks

You're hired MailChimp as your delivery mechanism. MailChimp is a professional provider of mailing services and should have all the knowledge necessary to be able to resolve this situation with AT&T. However, they may not be willing to take some of the necessary steps. You'll have to take that up with MailChimp.

I will contact MailChimp - given that I have an organization 723 members and the only service that bounced was att.net and sbcglobal.net (7.5% of the whole org) it would seem obvious that this service has a problem and I assumed they were aware of it and had a simple solution for their customers. I will send the question to MailChimp and I will also recommend those with att.net and sbcglobal.net move their email service to another provider - at least one indicated to me that's what they'll do because they're so upset with the service. I also see why this community forum is going away in a few days.

AT&T will put mail servers on internal black lists due to SPAM. They've done that at times to both Microsoft and Google, so you know they'll do it to MailChimp. I'm sure MailChimp has dealt with this problem before and knows what to do.
Hint, if you're using a from address with your domain name and haven't granted MailChimp the rights (via SPF in your DNS's TXT records or DKIM via giving them a private key) to send e-mail on your behalf, that could be your problem. MailChimp should be advising you on that. If it's not that, then it's something outside your control.
Oh, really? Please share. Because the above is not something that AT&T support is really interested in talking to you about in the slightest. They'll tell you to email some abuse email address and ask if there will be anything else. And since you don't own the Mail Chimp mail server, that abuse address will drop your e-mail in the bit bucket.

Mailchimp has nothing to do with the forum going away. You have a problem with Mailchimp than you contact them.
This has been a public user to user forum. There is no official access. You have been given honest and correct guidance to help resolve the issue. Just because it is not the answer you want doesn't mean you suddenly have magic insight into the inner decisions about the forum. In short, stick to reality.
