adding att.net email to Apple Mail version 16.0

Hi!

I've not been able to add my [email scrubbed] email address to Apple Mail. When I try to add a new account, I'm given these options: icloud, MS exchange, google, yahoo, aol and "other mail account." I select the last option, add my credentials and receive "unable to verify account name or password." I see that this is using IMAP account type. I try to select the "pop" account and add the inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net server names, but I only get the spinning circle.

Help please!

Thank you.

Will the same instructions work to install my ATT.net account to my MacBook Air laptop?

One additional question. If I use the same user name for both @ yahoo.com as @att.net, is this one and the same email account or are these two distinct email accounts?

Hi @JSYep

Thank you for reaching you to us!

We got you. Let's get the help you need!

We would recommend you to follow this article on how to set up your email account in MacBook, in the article please select the drop down where you will get the instruction for your device.

To answer for the additional question att.net is the domain which is supported by AT&T not the yahoo.com. These are two different email domains.

Let us know if this information helps. Feel free to contact us for further queries!

Thank you,

Sarah, AT&T Community Specialist.
