Hello @rcnet,

We understand that you’re having trouble with your email account. We'd be happy to point you in the right direction to set up your email account.

Firstly, we recommend that you go through this article which gives complete information on how to set up or change your user ID. You’ll need your ATT ID to manage accounts and services online or sign in to the myAT&T or AT&T Smart Home Manager apps. Follow these steps that might help: Please make sure you know your current user ID and password.

1. Go to your myAT&T profile. Sign in, if asked.

2. Choose Edit for your User ID in the Sign-in info section.

3. Enter your new ID in email address format (example: jdoe123@att.net).

4. Follow the prompts to save your new ID.

After changing/updating the ATT ID. You can create an AT&T Mail account at currently.com in minutes. We suggest you to follow these below simple steps to set up an email account.

  1. Go to currently.com and select Sign In.
  2. Choose Create AT&T Account.
  3. Enter your wireless number and ZIP Code. We'll text you a confirmation code.
  4. Enter the code and select Continue.
  5. Complete the info to create your new AT&T email address and password.
  6. Enter your profile info and security questions and answers.
  7. Follow the prompts to verify your account.
  8. Print or copy your email address, password, and security questions info, in case you forget your password.
  9. Select Continue when you see the confirmation page.

We suggest that you create a secure mail key for the email address. Follow these simple instructions:

  1. Go to Profile and choose Sign-in info.
  2. Select the email account that needs a secure mail key. (You’ll find a menu at the top if you have multiple accounts.)
  3. Scroll to Secure mail key and select Manage secure mail key.
  4. Choose the email address that you’d like to use, if you have more than one.
  5. Select Add secure mail key and then enter a nickname for the secure mail key to make it easier to recognize.
  6. Choose Create secure mail key.
  7. Select Copy secure mail key to clipboard. Make a note of your secure mail key, so you have it handy if you need to update an email app on several devices.
    • For security purposes, the secure mail key only displays until you select OK
    • If you lose or forget the secure mail key, you can create new secure mail keys.
  8. Select OK.

Please note, that once you access the profile, you may also when to make sure that your recovery information is all filled out. The reason why is that, due to security purposed we are unable to manually reset passwords.

After your secure mail key is created, then you can go through and set-up your email address on your app

If you’re still having trouble, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to help you out.

It would be nice if the instructions matched the page I'm supposed to find the next step on.  I get to Currently.com easily, but there is no "Create AT&T Account" button/link to click.  So either your instructions are extremely flawed, or this button/link is hidden behind a button/link you failed to include, or is somewhere I can't find it.

I'm editing out the rant I first posted and adding this suggestion:  To make this process easier and quicker for EVERYONE in the future, delete the part in your instructions above that says to click "Create AT&T Account" to "Sign up for Mail FREE".  Or better yet, change it to "Sign up for Free email address".

You need to understand that many people, like me, follow instructions to the letter.  When the instructions say to select/click/choose XYZ, we laser focus in on that specific thing to select/click/choose.  In other words, don't hide what you are asking people to do.  It may be intuitive for you that it would make sense to look for something else.  But you aren't everyone.
