Hi @dalece!

Thank you for reaching out to us! We understand that you're trying to set up an email to your iPhone mail App. We hear you, and happy to assist you.

We recommend that you try Setting up a Secure Mail Key to see if it lets you in.

Heads-up : Clear the cache and cookies on your browser as old data can cause sign-in issues at times.

First, let's have you run through these steps to ensure to you are following everything correctly :

  1. From Mail, select Mail > Preferences.
  2. Choose Accounts and then select the + (plus sign).
  3. Select Add Other Mail Account and then Continue.
  4. Complete Add a Mail Account info:
    • Full name as you want it to display to others
    • AT&T email address (YourName@att.net)
    • Password – enter your password or secure mail key
  5. Select Create. The account will automatically configure and appear in the Accounts list.
  6. Close the Preferences window to begin using your email account.

Due to enhanced security of AT&T Mail, you’ll have to use either OAuth or a secure mail key to get your email through an app. If your device is not OAuth (open authentication) compatible, it will not let you log in without one.

Let us know if this helps, for further assistance, we are always here to help!

Thank you!

The directions appear to be inaccurate on Mail App iphone iOS 12.4.1. Is this directions for desktop Apple Mail Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6?

There has never appeared on iphone mail preferences.

Second these are @sbcglobal. Or has everything (mail, contacts, calendar) been migrated to @att.net?

Third, there is no direction on how to get secure key or Open Authentication.

Fourth, what is needed is comprehensive step by step comprehensive and detailed steps to replicate set up. — iphone, mac, Android, Windows.

Sign me confused.

Hi @dalece,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

We understand your concern with regard to email domains and creating a secure mail key. Let's get the help you need.

To answer your questions:

1) Below are the detailed steps to create a secure mail key from your Apple desktop (iOS). Have your User ID and password ready to sign in to myAT&T.

  1. Access att.com.
  2. In the upper-right corner, select the Person icon.
  3. Select View Profile > Sign-In Info.
  4. Under Secure Mail Key, select Manage Secure Mail Key.
    • If there are multiple email addresses linked, you must select the email address they want to use.
  5. Select Add Secure Mail Key.
  6. Enter a nickname for the secure mail key and select Create Secure Mail Key.
  7. Select Copy Secure Mail Key to the clipboard.
    • For security purposes, the secure mail key only displays until you select OK.
    • If you lose or forgets the secure mail key, you can create additional secure mail keys, as needed.
  8. Select OK. A confirmation displays and you can see all the secure mail keys created.
  9. In your email application, replace the existing password(s):
    • For POP, delete the existing password. Enter or paste the secure mail key in its place.
    • For IMAP, delete the existing password for both the IMAP and SMTP servers and replace them with the secure mail key.

2) .net are the email domain names supported by AT&T.

Please let us know if you have any other questions, we'd be happy to help!

Thank you,
David

Is @sbcglobal no longer used for email, contacts and calendar? Now use @attt.net?

Hey @dalece, we hear you, we want to help clear things up.

To answer your question, SBCGlobal email addresses with the @sbcglobal.net domain are still functional, but they are now part of the AT&T brand. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Email Addresses:
    • Existing SBCGlobal email addresses continue to work, and you can still send and receive emails using them.
    • However, AT&T encourages users to create new AT&T Mail accounts at Currently.com. These new accounts will have the @att.net domain.
    • If you prefer to stick with your existing SBCGlobal address, you can continue using it.
  2. Contacts and Calendar:
    • Contacts and calendar data associated with your SBCGlobal account should remain accessible.
    • If you decide to create a new AT&T Mail account, you can import your existing contacts and calendar events into the new account.
  3. Transitioning:
    • There isn’t an automatic migration from SBCGlobal to AT&T Mail. Users need to manually set up new accounts if they choose to do so.

In summary, both @sbcglobal.net and @att.net addresses are still in use, but AT&T recommends creating new accounts with the latter domain. Choose the option that best suits your needs!

Let us know if this helps!

Thank you Bruce.

1. As I understand both SBCGlobal and ATT are at currently.com. No longer need to go to yahoo.com.

2. Ok so Contacts and calendars remain accessible under either domain. But they do not sync with Apple Mail Mac OS desktop (Mojave 10.14.6) and Mail iPhone iOS (12.4.1). Normally I set up new email yahoo, gmail, etc and and just check the boxes of what I want to sinc with Apple apps. Email, calendar, contacts, notes, reminders, etc.

Appears this does not work currently.com.

INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED to sync.

3. INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED to Transition SBCGlobal to ATT - Email, calendar, contacts, notes, reminders, etc.
