My email is not going to my inbox.

After resisting for several weeks, I clicked on a supposedly AT&T email to upgrade my e-mail site before it would be shut- down.  Ever since (3 days so far), my email has been going to my trash folder and maybe some others.  What do I have to do to fix the problem.  (I read about this on the forum, but I can no longer find the discussion.)

Found the problem.  There was a "disguised" filter evidently installed by some malware that was sending my email to my trash folder.  Thanks for the help.

Hi @richardcd

Thank you for writing us back. We understand that you're receiving emails to your trash folder. We hear you, and happy to assist you.

We recommend that you try resetting your password as this could help re-syncing the data with the email server.

Also, please verify or update AT&T Mail server settings:

  1. Select File, then Account Settings.
  2. Choose your AT&T email account and then select Change
  3. Confirm or enter the IMAP or POP settings.
    • Incoming server: imap.mail.att.net (IMAP) or inbound.att.net (POP3)
    • Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.att.net (IMAP) or outbound.att.net (POP3)
  4. Check or enter your User Name (full AT&T Mail address).
  5. Enter your secure mail key in the password field and select the Remember password checkbox.
  6. Select Next. Outlook will test your account settings.
  7. Select Close, then Finish.

For more information please visit our article about AT&T email server settings.

Let us know how it goes.

For further assistance we're here to assist you.

Thank you.

Emma, AT&T Community Specialist.
