Set up ATT.Yahoo on new compoter

I have been using ATT.Yahoo email for decades (bellsouth.net).  I recently purchased a new computer and cannot set up Outlook 2021.  My current PC uses the "old" server settings and works just fine.  When I try using the "inbound.att.net" and "outbound.att.net" settings Outlook gives an error message that says my settings are incorrect.
Any help would be greatly appreciates.

Hi @jurgens!

Thanks for reaching out to us, we hear you, and happy to assist you.

Use these steps to set up your email for the first time or on a new computer.
  1. In Windows Mail, press Windows key + C to access Charms Menu.
  2. Select Settings > Accounts.
  3. Choose Add an account.
  4. Select Yahoo!
  5. Complete Account Info:
    • AT&T email address (YourName@att.net)
    • Password – enter your password
  6. Select Connect. If you provided the sign in info, your AT&T email will sync with Windows Mail.

Verify or update email settings

Windows Mail doesn’t support POP3 settings. Use these steps to verify or update your IMAP settings:
  1. In Windows Mail, select your AT&T email Account.
  2. Confirm Account name and download info.
  3. Confirm or update your incoming email server info:
    • Incoming email server - imap.mail.att.net
    • Port - 993
    • Server requires SSL is selected
  4. Confirm or update your Outgoing email server info:
    • Outgoing email server - smtp.mail.att.net
    • Port - 465
    • Server requires SSL is selected
    • Outgoing server requires authentication is selected
  5. Use the same username and enter your password to send and receive email.
  6. Close your settings.

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you,

Rob, AT&T Community Specialist.

Rob,  Thank you for your response.  I have been in the middle of a move and have not had time to implement your suggestion until now.  I really don't want to use Windows mail.  I want to use Outlook.  Outlook 2021 doesn't want to accept the "normal" settings for POP mail.  Do you have any suggestions that will allow me to use Outlook 2021?

Thanks,

Chuck
