Sync old email IMAP

On Yahoo.com my ATT account emails go back to 2017.

On macOS Apple Mail (current versions), my ATT email only syncs two years of messages.

Please tell me what settings need to be changed. My ATT account / plan has 1 TB of storage and I only use about 1%.

Hi @nblake5! We completely understand your concern regarding syncing old email IMAP, and would like to help. Let's get the assistance you require.

In order to fix this, we'd recommend you to follow this below-mentioned steps.

Secure mail keys, email program setup, or updates

Get a secure mail key

A security upgrade is coming to AT&T email. If you use Apple Mail or Mac Mail with macOS 10.10/Yosemite or older, you’ll have to update your email settings. Learn more about the security upgrade.

If your OS is affected, be sure to create a secure mail key to set up or update your email. If your Mac runs on OS 10.11/El Capitan or above, you won’t need one.

Set up Apple Mail (OS X) for AT&T email

Use these steps to set up your email for the first time or on a new computer.

  1. From Mail, select Mail > Preferences.
  2. Choose Accounts and then select the + (plus sign).
  3. Select Add Other Mail Account and then Continue.
  4. Complete Add a Mail Account info:
    • Full name as you want it to display to others
    • AT&T email address (YourName@att.net)
    • Password – enter your password or secure mail key
  5. Select Create. The account will automatically configure and appear in the Accounts list.
  6. Close the Preferences window to begin using your email account.

For more information, you can also check our verify or update AT&T email settings.

As I said in the post, I am on the current versions of macOS (14.4) and Apple Mail (16), so this does not seem to apply.

Please advise.
