Here is a tutorial I made up last summer.

Also, I'm moving this thread to the Email forum.

ATT made me change my password on the web yesterday and now Thunderbird no longer connects.  I get wrong password no matter what.

I did the tutorial changes but I can't seem to get the Yahoo dialogue.  the web client for Currently works but not Thunderbird

That is exactly the problem that started on 8/23.  We have been on phone to  AT&T for several hours in last two days.
They try to help but all suggestions keep failing.  I followed AT&T instructions about creating a secure key and changing my password.  I too can access my email via Firefox.   But Thunderbird logons fail when sending emails.  My security settings are SSL/TLS and OAuth2 as directed after my first phone call.

Folks,

Having the exact same issue.  It appears there is no way to get Thunderbird to work with AT&T email service in either IMAP or POP3 mode.

Microsoft's "New Outlook" works, but its just a front end to yahoo mail. I would prefer to use an offline email client such as Eudora. That's MUCH more efficient. But AT&T refuses to help. Maybe if we can get Microsoft to take over the support of Eudora, we can get an offline email client. Please help convince them. Eudora is BY FAR the best email client!
