Area code not registering on caller id

Unless your phone has an option to not display CID within the same area code that information comes from the phone company, you'll need to report it.  You don't say if it's all area codes or just those that are the same as yours.  You also don't say what service this is for.

In order to do so, we'll need to gather additional information. Please let us know the make/model of your device, and whether you have the Call Protect app or not. Some have reported disabling Call Protect and restarting their device has fixed this issue.

Since this was reported in the home phone forum, I assumed that's what it was.  If this is cell service it should be moved to the proper forum. 

my CL2909 landline phone does not show the area code. So if some one call the caller id shows the the 7 digits and you have to be a good guesser. Any help would be appreciated. 

This is a two-year-old topic and what is posted also applies to you. Your phone's manual can be found here page 28 give you the number display options. My guess is this is a provider issue.
