Hey there @JenniferVZ,

Thank you for reaching out to us! Let's work around your concern and get the help you need!

AT&T purchased devices are carrier locked to AT&T, to protect you from fraud and to reduce theft. A carrier lock keeps your device from being used on any other network except AT&T.

But you can go ahead and unlock your device by paying off the left over/remaining installments and submitting an unlock request with AT&T. There is no charge to unlock your phone, if you meet the requirements to unlock. Use the unlock portal to request your phone to be unlocked: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/Unlock Your Phone or Device - AT&T Device Unlock (att.com)

However, if you have purchased this device with third party seller, you will have to reach or contact them directly to have your device unlocked.

To help you while you're out of the country, please call our International team at +1 (314) 925-6925 They'll be happy to take a look into this.

Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.
