Blocking scam calls on landline

We get dozens of recorded scam calls every week. How do we block these on an AT&T landline? *60 doesn't work for this application (and only blocks 10 LOCAL numbers). Why isn't AT&T doing this automatically?

Let's help you stop these unwanted calls, @dgold!

While *60 is able to block up to 10 local numbers, we have multiple ways to block calls for your landline devices. For example, did you know that you can use *77 to turn on the ability to automatically reject calls?

Let us know if this helps- we hope to hear from you!

I just received another scam call – caller ID said “Unknown Caller”. After I hung up I dialed *77# and as usual I received the usual “anonymous callers have been blocked” - but they aren’t!!I

ATT-Uverse does a poor job of blocking these scam calls – may I suggest instead of caller ID saying “Unknown Caller” have it say “Caution – Possible Scam Call” or is that too long? “Scam Call” is shorter. Please????

That only works for people who have caller ID but block it, like if you were to block your outgoing CID and whoever you called had anonymous call rejection activated. It doesn't stop those who don't send a CID to the phone company to begin with, which is what unknown caller or unavailable means.

I get multiple robo calls from Xfinity, Spectrum, american insurance etc. throughout the day.  I have asked to be removed from their call list when i talk to a person, but they just call back using a wireless number or a person's stolen number.  There's got to be a way to STOP these called!  Signing up for the DO NOT CALL list will not work with Interstate spam/scam calls.  How can we stop them?

Glad to help you stop unwanted calls, Dennis_S.

You can stop anonymous calls using *77, block calls with *60, and use other star codes to stop unwanted calls.

If you need help with any other aspect of your phone service, let us know.

These scam calls can use thousands of numbers. My CID have a few peoples name and when I answer, they’re from India.  You mentioned other “*” options, what other number options are there?
