My AT&T landline phone has an answering machine but when someone calls to leave a message it goes to another answering service
We have a Bluetooth AT&T DL72310 and we want messages to go to the phones answering machine. Rings are set to 5 and we created a personal message. However, if someone calls, the phone only rings three times and caller is sent to an automated voice mail (not the default message that comes with the answering machine). How do we set the phone so that the home answering machine picks up the messages?

If you have digital service (U-verse) go into your MyAtt account and access the phone feature and either turn off or increase the number of rings on your phone company voicemail. If yours is a traditional landline you'll need to call to get it turned off.

my att dl72310 cordless phone will not allow anyone to leave a message, it ask for a code?
