New phone number calls straight to voicemail

I have a Samsung S23+ and all the new calls from new numbers go strainght to the voicemail. My phone does not even ring!

And now, on top of that, I haven't been getting whats app's notifications.

It is the first time ever I have an issue with Samsung, after switching carriers and choosing AT&T.  So, I am left to conclude that AT&T is the real issue.

Hi @CaligirlLA!

Let's help you with this situation of your calls going straight to voicemail and not receiving notifications

In order to get started we can try a couple of things that could help.

I see you did mention switching carriers.

In case, if you haven't already:

  •  power off your device then power it back on after 30 seconds
  • Try resolving your experience by resetting the network settings by navigating to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings > enter your Passcode to restore the network settings to default.

Apart from this, it's worth checking to see if If you have enabled your Android's Do Not Disturb, if data is off in error or if airplane mode was activated by mistake, causing most or all your phone calls to go directly to voicemail.

In addition to that, If you have the AT&T Call Protect app check to make sure that call block is not turned on.

This feature may be sending callers to your voicemail. Use our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool for step-by- step help to fix your call issues if this persists by changing directly to your device.

Let us know how this worked for you. Please reach out if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for you help, Monica but it didn't help at all. I've tried everything that you told me, that my friends told me but no results.

I don't know what else I could do

We are here to help with your calls going straight to voicemail @CaligirlLA.

Please check your Call Forwarding Settings. Your incoming calls could be forwarded to your voicemail.

We want you to try using our Troubleshoot And Resolve Tool > Fix An Issue > Phone Calls/Call & data quality. This will assist in fixing your calls concern. Also, make sure that do not disturb is not turned on.

We recommend you to reach out to your Phone manufacturer (Samsung). As they will be able to help you with the Voice mail updates.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Was @CaligirlLA issue fixed? I am having the exact same problem. I have gone through the "troubleshoot" and current have a ticket opened. Have tried everything i see here, plus a few other things...took out sim card, powered off, checked all settings, no calls are being blocked, AT& T armor uninstalled. any other ideas?

I am thinking i may need to hard reset my phone, which is such a pain.

Guess how I had to fix my issue @katm2024?? I had to get another galaxy s23+. It was a pain to make at&t give me another phone using the warrenty. But, at least, now I can receive income calls from new numbers

Hi @CaligirlLA , after 4 months are your new calls still coming thru okay?  I'm having the same issue and it's very frustrating! :-(

Evidently I had turned on the AT&T Armor security which is free for my plan. I went to my account and deactivated it, phone was working fine.

Hmmm.  I uninstalled it on my phone after reading another comment but I think it may still be happening.  I will double check.  Thank you for responding.
