SYNJ PHONE SYSTEM EXTENSION ISSUE - can't select an extenison

My system is frequently dropping the dial tone so we can't make or receive calls.  Now inbound callers can't select an extension and the inbound recording simply loops.  Help!  :)

It's most likely the phone system. Go through the answering machine and auto attendant set up, could be you've lost your settings. Here's the manual. The post from @Chenna_04 appears to be AI generated. Sounds to me like the base unit has gone bad. Try removing power and batteries, if installed for 30 seconds or so before checking programing.

Thanks Chenna...the service provider has checked the lines with no problems or issues found - the phone will restore to a dial tone for outbound calling after it is unplugged for several minutes, then plugged back in.  it will stay good for a time and then randomly drop off again.
