voicemail

Hi --- I've recently developed an issue with my iPhone 11. Anytime someone calls me, instead of the number going to voicemail, they just hear a high pitched noise that continues indefinitely.

Hello @Step1Exam, we are here to help with your voicemail and spam calls.

We'll need a little more details.

  • What voicemail platform are you using?
  • Is it basic voicemail? Visual voicemail?
  • If you call your voicemail from another phone, do you hear it as well?

These questions will enable us to provide you more personalized guidance with voicemail.

There are a number of factors that can cause interference on phone calls. The interference can be caused by Radio and TV transmitters, other electronics, or other phones in the area. It can also be caused by poor reception. We recommend taking a look at AT&T Mobility FAQ for Interference.

Also, check out these steps on how to recognize and prevent phone scams.

Pay special attention to calls that:

  • Request that you verify personal data (such as your Social Security number).
  • Ask you visit a website that appears to be affiliated with AT&T or another company.
  • Use an automated voice instructing you to return their call.
  • Instruct you to return their call at a different phone number than the one shown by Caller ID.
  • Claim to be a computer technician with a technical support company requesting remote access to your computer.
  • Claim you have won a sweepstakes, contest, or other item of value.
  • Claim you owe a debt or fine and ask that you take care of it today.
  • Request to verify a PIN code by phone without you having personally initiated an update to an account, service, or profile.
