Caller ID displaying "Incoming Call" only

Good evening,

I have an AT&T Home Cordless Phone (Dect 6.0 - EL52303 - Ans Sys, Call ID...with 3 points).

In the first week, it was working well, like AT&T products, but in the next days the numbers in Caller ID (Screen) not appear more...only appear the message (Incoming Call).

I need help to adjust this point in my phones and the id numbers on the screen returns to work.

Thanks for attention,

Phillip.

Have you tried unplugging the RGs power cord, wait 30 sec and plug it back in ?,

Hi WolfPhillip,

I'm sorry your caller ID is showing "Incoming Call" instead of the callers
information when receiving calls. This is common when trouble is present with your
phone wiring. I also recommend plugging the base of this telephone set directly to
the gateway for testing purpose. This will help isolate if the wall jacks or wiring
behind those jacks are defective. If the caller ID works again after connecting your
phone directly to the gateway it will confirm some trouble is present with the wiring
and I can make some arrangements to have that resolved. If your caller ID is still
showing "Incoming Call" I recommend trying a few things then send me your account
details to ATTU-verseCare if they do not resolve the issue.

Plug phone directly to gateway:

Try these additional steps if possible:

  • Replace phone cord that connects to the phone base
  • Use a different phone with caller ID connected to the gateway
  • Unplug phone base from power and plug back in after 15 seconds
  • Reset the phone or phone base if available

Note: Caller ID features work only if both you and the caller are in areas offering
caller ID service, and if both telephone service providers use
compatible equipment

Troubleshooting steps for most cordless phones

If the telephone does not seem to be responding normally, try
putting the cordless handset in the charger. If it does not fix the
problem, perform these steps in the order they are listed:

1. Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
2. Disconnect the cordless handset battery.
3. Wait a few minutes.
4. Connect power to the telephone base.
5. Completely remove the battery. Replace the battery and place
the cordless handset into the telephone base or charger.
6. Wait for the cordless handset to reestablish its connection with
the telephone base. Allow up to one minute for this to take place.

I am experiencing the CL4940 displaying “incoming call” but my Radio Shack external caller ID displays the name and number of the caller. I want to use the backlit screen of the CL4940 for caller ID, the Radio Shack caller ID is not backlit and the text is very small.

This is for my 92 year old father in law who needs the big screen of the CL4940 so he can see the caller ID.

I have (3) CL4940s. I have tried plugging the phone directly into the Verizon 4g gateway and it always displays “Incoming Call” but not the caller ID only for these handsets.

any ideas?

How about opening your own topic instead of tacking onto an eight year old one. It's most likely the signal being sent by the gateway isn't strong enough for the handsets. Has it ever worked and have you tried resetting the gateway? Closing this old topic to further posting.
