You have to call, or place an order online if available online.

800 288-2020

is there another number to call?
‘I have as yet, not been able to connect with someone who could arrange for the phone line to be reconnected.

thanks for any help.

Is AT&T even re-connecting land lines now? I know they've been phasing them out for VoIP for years.

Yes, existing lines are simply connected at the distribution center. The 2020 number is given to connect with TELCO, they do the physical hookup.

You are correct, though, AT&T is phasing out land lines unless previously existing.

thanks

A little confused as some of your statements sound a bit conflicting.

You have an "existing" landline. (existing customer with active service)

You "now" have AT&T service (customer just got service, not an existing landline customer)

You want service "reactivated" (was an existing customer but is currently disconnected)

What is the exact situation? And what do you mean you cannot get in touch with AT&T (telco)? If you mean long hold times, it is middle of holiday season which means additional short staffing.

I am sorry for the confusion.

presently two types of "land lines" are currently in use: a "hard wired" existing line and an internet line. Switching from an internet line when going to another company (AT&T) the existing hard line can be activated by TELCOM since everything still exists, no new wiring is required and is the reason the service is still available.

Also the lines are there but were not used. An internet connection supplied the phone. AT&T originally installed all the phones and wiring.

ATT PHONE is the renamed Uverse VOIP (December 2016) that is provided from the ATT gateway.

While ATT Uverse service comes over telephone line, the POTS section would have been disconnected at the NID.

If have FTTN internet of 25 or higher would have required additional jumper placement at the VRAD to add POTS from the Central Office along with a VDSL splitter placement in the NID.

If have IP-CO internet would need a CO tech to place the jumper and a Uverse premise tech to install ADSL phone splitter at NID.

Either requires a tech dispatch which has a $99 installation charge to connect a POTS line, if even still allowed as many  CO

Thank you áll for your responses, I was finally able to reach someone local who was able to explain to me that someone from AT&T should be calling me.
