Hi @g27004,we understand that you are unable to access your mobile device. You may follow the below steps to get the device unlocked:

  • Go to att.com/deviceunlock.
  • Select Unlock your device and follow the prompts.
  • Not with AT&T? We can still help you unlock your device. If the device works on our network, you’re covered.
  • Check your request status
  • Check your email (including spam or junk folders) or text messages for updates on your request. If you don't have a wireless phone account, you have to select Confirm your request in the email we sent you.

  • Go to att.com/deviceunlock/status and follow the prompts.

    Good to know:
  •  It usually takes a few minutes to approve your request, but it can take up to 48 hours. Don't have a wireless phone account? Make sure you select Confirm your request in the email we sent you or request will be canceled.
  • If we don’t approve your request, it’s probably because your device isn’t eligible to be unlocked. Review the list of eligibility requirements
  • If your device isn't eligible to be unlocked, and you're traveling abroad, choose an AT&T International Plan.
  • Unlocking your device:-
  • Once your request is approved, check your text messages or email for instructions and an unlock code (if required). iPhones® don't have unlock codes.
  • Lose your unlock code? Resubmit the request and we'll resend it to you.

 Thank you,

@Hasher_123  If you purchased the iPhone from an online store it could be that the original owner didn't unlock the phone before they sold it for various reasons. Try the unlock portal and see what kind of message you get. Just make sure that the phone meets all of the requirements. If there is an issue with the phone only the original owner can fix it. AT&T can't and won't. Purchasing phones from a third party can be very problematic.

This is a public customer populated forum only. It is not AT&T Support so don't post any personal information (IMEI number for example).
