No functioning phone jacks after upgraded to fiber

I just had the AT&T tech upgraded my service to fiber.  When I went to make a phone call, none of my phone jacks are functioning.  What is the problem, and how can I get it fixed.

Your phone now works out of the phone jack on the back of the modem. So, if you have a cordless phone system you'd plug the base in there. If you need your jack to work you need to feed the jacks out of the back of the modem, if there's a close by jack just plug a phone cord from the back of the modem to the jack, that should make all jacks that were working work again. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: prior to connecting the modem to the existing phone wiring go to the NID and disconnect the incoming line from the phone company, simply open the connection and tape over the pins. If you don't know what an NID is or how to open the connection search the Internet for Phone Company NID.
