Retrieve messages on att home phone cl82407
Says to enter code to get messages but nothing happens.I have tried changing to another code but no results.Want to get messages when not home but out of luck.Manual only says to enter code I tried after answer and before and during but no luck.Old phone you put in code after message played and it worked new phone @##$$

We'd recommend checking out this information on how to check your voicemail messages. You'll need to check the section on how to retrieve messages from anywhere.
To check voicemail when you're away from home, dial your home phone number from any phone, press * (to skip the voicemail greeting), and then follow steps that are above them that you'd use to check from home.
You can also listen to your voice message by dialing your access code. If you're away from home, but there's a chance someone may answer your home phone, you may want to check for messages by using your Access Number. Dial the Access Number instead, enter your home phone number, and when prompted, enter your mailbox PIN:

Have you tried this from more than one device? As you said the manual says to enter the code when the machine answers. Make sure it's your answering machine that's answering and not the phone companies voicemail.
