Where do I go online to have my landline phone connected?

I had a landline and for some crazy reason after husband passed away my landline service was disconnected. My bill is current but my cell phone service on my ranch where I live is absolutely terrible and it never fails to drop calls at the most inconvenient time. How can I order my home phone traditional landline online using my smartphone that doesn't work as a phone in rural Oklahoma

You can't. To place an order you have to call.

Well that's about right I can't call them because when I call on my cell phone I never reach the landline department.  If I can get the right department they can't hear me because my cell service is so terrible.  Just about the time I manage to get all the information they want my signal drops the call and of course they never call back and if I call them back the whole process starts all over again.  So what do I do I have already experienced needing to call 911 and not been able to make a call at all. I am an older woman who just buried the last member of my family. So I am stuck without emergency services if I should need them.  So now what?

Go somewhere that service works. The only way to order is to call so you need to find a location where you have service.

If your landline service was disconnected I wonder if it was in your husband's name. A service cannot stay in a deceased person's name. Though some services do allow a surviving spouse to take it over, but you have to discuss with customer support as it doesn't happen automatically.

Unfortuantely whether it is verifying service is working again or a new account created, you have to call to do so. You will need to go where your cell phone works or use some other phone that may be closer then where you get cell service.

Allthough be aware that AT&T has been pushing to discontinue all their traditional landlines. They were shooting for by 2020, but I understand it got delayed as wireless is not yet ready for rural America (such as your ranch).

OK well thank you . I  appreciate the helpful advice from at&t. It doesn't surprise me I guess I can just walk to a better services area . The service was and has always been in my name, has always been paid on time with auto withdrawal from business account that is still open. BLESS Y'ALL's  HEART for your kindness. Now if one of you can just tell me how do I go about finding where I need to go for that better service. When I say I live on a ranch I mean that I live out where the Hoot owls romance the chickens.  I can still see the stars at night because there isnt another light for miles in any direction. I  live in the country and I am a long,  long way past my prime.

Why on earth is a telephone company  try to provide TV  service  makes no sense at all to me, let get the telephone part right first.   Hmm I glad I don't own a TV.  Rambling old lady.

What makes you think it's disconnected if you've keep your bills up to date? Maybe you have a service outage. When you call in for trouble at the voice prompt say landline, some say saying POTS also works. You state you have to walk to get a good signal on your cell phone. You live way out in the country with no transportation?

This is a user to user forum so the advice isn't from AT&T it's from other users like you.

No I had transportation but it is a 2006 with over 300 thousand miles it was my husband's truck unfortunately the radiator needs replaced so yes currently I am a foot. I will just make due.   Living in the country without transportation is not the worst thing to happen to me in the last 18 months. So God is good. Thank you

If the service is in your name, and bill is paid up, I would call Repair service.   Turn in the report as a "dead line".   Let them figure out that you have been disconnected in error.
