Hello @DV8ed!

Thank you for posting on the Community Forums! This is a great question and I will be more than happy to address it for you!

AT&T Messages is a great service, which allows you to Back up and Sync your text and picture messages in the AT&T Cloud.

Our Marketing team has initiated a campaign to remove inactive cloud inboxes with the purpose of freeing up capacity. If you have not accessed or used this service within the last 90 days, you will receive a SMS notification 45 days and two days prior to inbox removal.

The good news is your messages stored in your phone will not be affected. If you received a text message indicating your stored data will be removed and you wish to keep the service active, please click on this link to follow the instructions.

I hope this information helps! If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to let us know. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

I must admit the answer was vague enough to not really answer the question.

I use the service also, because I change phones often.

If you want to save what is currently on your phone, open messages, select settings, and back up and sync.  Do a backup now.

You might want to do some house keeping before the backup.
