Can't send or recieve texts

My texts messages started failing and after many troubleshooting attempts I found out that when advanced messaging is on, the message says failed. When advanced messaging is off, it seems as though it sent but the recipient didn't get the message. I also am not recieving any messages except for promotional messages such as stores. I can recieve and make phone calls, my data works. Iv tried every troubleshooting route I know and also contacted at&t yet still nothing. This is also happening now with my moms phone and she's on my plan as well.

Hello @Mollaaaayyy, we hear you, and wanted to help get this sorted.

When did this issue begin? Are you having issues with making phone calls and/or using data as well? Where are you located? Have you tried any troubleshooting measures yet? With more details, we'll be able to proceed.

Check whether turning on Premium SMS resolves your experience.

  1. From a Home screen swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate to Settings then select Apps.
  3. Tap the Menu icon (three vertical dots in the upper right).
  4. Tap Special Access.
  5. Tap Use Premium text message services.
  6. Tap the app then select an option (Ask, Never Allow, Always Allow). Apps listed vary and only appear if they've been used for premium messaging.

Please power cycle your device, reinsert your SIM Card to reset your device. We also recommend resetting your network settings to refresh your network, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Update your device software to the latest version to help fix your Message service, enough space, at least 80% battery and a Wi-Fi connection is needed for the update. Lastly, check out our helpful Troubleshoot And Resolve Tool to help fix message service. Go to Fix An Issue > Connection > Messaging and enter the correct device at Change Device

Thank you for your participation in our Community/Forums. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I tried the premium message service as you recommended and that did not help. My phone is up to date. I can make and recieve calls, my data works. My phone worked fine until I drove into a no service zone. When I got back to service my text messages would not work. I have full bars. Iv tried every troubleshooting resolution I know with no luck. I find it odd that with advanced messaging off it appears my messages sent but the recipient didn't get them and with advanced messaging on the message is grayed out and says failed by it
