Data usage suddenly up
Data usage going from .50 MB to almost 4.0 in a couple of weeks time Is someone hacking my data and what should I do about it

Your data isn’t getting hacked or diverted to someone else. Either it’s a mistake, or more likely your phone is actually using the data. If you can see the data being used by individual apps on your phone settings, take a look and see what’s using the data.

As @dwill05 suggested, check your phone. It records usage independently of AT&T.
No one can access your data.
4 gigs isn't a lot.
People under estimate how much data can be used in a month. In the early days, 2 gigs was plenty. In 2011 we shared 10 gigs between 4 of us.
Now I average 10+ just for me.
I got a t mobile sim and played a podcast on the 30 minute ride home. Used 636 MB on Amazon music podcast and another 500+ MB on other apps. 1.3 gigs in less than an hour
