How do I put time limits on my child's phone so they cannot call or text after a certain time?

I want to prevent my child from calling or texting after 11pm each night.  Please tell me how to do this.

Hello @concernedmom2

We know how important it is for parents to keep track and to monitor what their children are doing or accessing. Let's help get your parental controls set up in place!

On the AT&T Secure Family app (Parent cellphone):

  1. Select the child's cellphone in the Secure family app, scroll down on the child dashboard screen, tap on Time Limits.
  2. Go to Night Hours/School Hours and tap on default time limit to edit, or tap on Add Time Limit to create custom time restriction.
  3. Select desired days and time frame, and then tap Save to complete the time limits settings.

If you continue to have trouble managing your secure family app, you can visit the  Manage AT&T Secure Family   and scroll down to App setup & Management for additional information and assistance.

Thanks for reaching out to the community, and enjoy the rest of your week!

@concernedmom2  Make them take the phone and place it on a charger in a different room.

This stops them from getting around it or figuring out a way to use WiFi to use it also.

If the homework isn't done, it goes in the other room even sooner...

If this is dependent on the child keeping certain settings on a companion app on their phone and thus in their control then this is worthless.  Is that the case or is the parents app the only requirement?
