iphone grandfather
Hello,
I am currently looking to upgrade an iPhone 4s with unlimited data and two Samsung Infuses. The phone plan I currently have is a 700 minute, 200mb's on each Samsung, unlimited data on the iPhone and unlimited texting.
I would like to grandfather myself with the unlimited data to an iPhone 6, the Samsungs would be upgraded to Samsung S5's, but their data plans are a tad out of date. The 700 minutes is more than enough for a month of talking and unlimited texting is great.
It appears my options are; upgrade one Samsung to 1 gb for $30, which is as much as my unlimited... or give up unlimited data for a family share plan.
Do I have any other options? If it comes down to losing unlimited data, I would rather change to a carrier offering unlimited data than "share" data, but I will keep my options open.
Thank you for your time,
Salty

You can keep the unlimited data on your line and can get the Samsung lines on a share plan
Here are the plans
Mobile Share Data Plans
They can share 1GB of data for $25 plus $40 for each phone for a total of $105 plus tax.
If 1GB is not enough the next plan is 3GB for $40.

Hi there @Saltyy
I’d be happy to help with your upgrades and plan changes! What I would recommend would be to first upgrade the devices, staying on their current plans. When you receive the new phones, you can then make the plan changes. When changing your plan online, you would be asked which lines you wish to include in the new Mobile Share Value plan. As long as you do not include the iPhone line, you would keep your unlimited data.
If you would like us to assist with this, please contact us.
If this helps, please mark this answer as an accepted solution!
Thanks,
