slow 5G data service

I work in mid-town Atlanta. When at work sitting in my office with a window view of the street I will have 3 to 4 out of 5 bars of service - strong connection. However, my mobile data is slower than old dial-up service. I've reset my service, checked dozens of things with phone tech support and gotten new E-Sims set up on my phone. Nothing works. Today on the handful of speed tests I ran the best I got was 1.72 MBPS download speed. On March 28th the best was 0.19 Mbps... That is just not acceptable. Anybody had any luck resolving such issues.

There is your answer...

It's called congestion. Just like when you drive to work and home from work on the highway and there's a traffic jam because everyone else is on the road at the same time.  Doesn't matter whether you have a $200,000 car... Everyone deals with the same issue of congestion in  heavily populated areas

I understand congestion. But all day long, every single day, even nights and weekends on a plan that is not supposed to be throttled…

@gb1867

Throttling and congestion are entirely different. AT&T does not throttle it's unlimited plans with the exception of the cap on the hotspot which is throttled by computer once you reach the limit.

Plans like the extra plan are deprioritized, which is not throttling, once they exceed their priority data.  However it's not looking like AT&T is providing priority data if they down grade QCI

The scuttle butt is AT&T is/has rearranging/reduced its priority on the elite and premium plan. (Supposedly changing elite and premium from QCI 6 to QCI 7 which is the same as all of the other consumer plans)

It's kind of a scummy move ... to reduce the priority of those plans and then months later introduce a premium fee-based option for people to get priority data back again.

I have spent the last few weeks with a T-Mobile SIM on an unlocked Samsung s22, which is QCI 6 everywhere. And I'm on one of their cheap prepaid plans. When it works it works very well.  Unfortunately it's terribly unreliable. Laughably unreliable.
