Text Messaging

Hello friends. I am hoping for a miracle at this point. It started two weeks ago when I sent a group text message with Textra (texting app) That was the last text I was able to send or receive. I could receive OTAs (bank codes, ATT verification etc) not nothing else. I spent 3 hours in ATT store and and additional 7 hours with ATT tech support. I bounced around FirstNet, ATT and Assurian Pro Tech. They did everything,  I mean everything with no success. I put my SIM into an ATT device, no texts. Put a ATT Sim into my device, texts ok (not the device's fault) They went as far as cancelling and reinstating my line, move billing package, dozens of repositioning . Long story short, so solution.

I ported the number to Verizon. I can text and receive text from all phone carriers EXCEPT ATT.

Could they have blocked or blacklisted my number because of Textra? Where do I go from here??

PLease help

Hello @strezac,

We want to help get your phone not receiving text messages.

Try our troubleshooting tool as it can reset the network on your SIM, and may help start receiving your messages again. We know you stated that you already tried some fixes, but we would like to offer you some more troubleshooting tips.

Can't send or receive text or picture messages? Try these tips:
  • Restart your device.
  • Turn Wi-Fi off. Make sure mobile (cellular) data is enabled and that you can browse the web. Then try again.
  • Be sure messaging is on.
    • iOS devices: Go to Settings, then Message, and turn iMessage off and back on.
    • Android devices: Go to Settings, then Advanced Messaging, and turn Advanced Messaging off and back on.

Here are some other things to try:

    • Check your device's memory storage. If it's full, messages may not come through.
    • Make sure your device is updated to the latest software.
    • Add +1 (the country code) before the 10-digit phone number for all your contacts in the U.S. This makes sure you can text them if you're out of the country.

Please let us know if this helps to start receiving your text messages again. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Thank you for your response. We already ruled out the device having a problem. We put my sim into an ATT device and it did not work. We put another ATT sim into my phone (S24 Ultra) and it worked.

Now I am on Verizon and I can send and receive text messages to any carrier except ATT. I want to return to ATT (I have four more lines for the family there) but I need to have the text messages fixed.

It is an ATT internal error and I cannot reach anyone who can look into it.

Could my number be somehow blacklisted because I used Textra for group messages?

THANK YOU for your help. I also have a ticket with advanced tech support, but I dont have high hopes. For what it’s worth, this is the case number: CM20240329_165041704

Cheers
