unable to receive SMSverification code from WhatsApp

I recently transferred my phone number to AT&T.

When trying to register my phone number in WhatsApp, I am unable to receive the verification code. I tried multiple time but have not received the verification code.

this problem is with WhatsApp only. I am able to receive other SMS on my phone number but not from WhatsApp

We're happy to help with troubleshooting steps to receive short codes to your device jaideepmathur.

Let's start by resetting your network settings to refresh your connection to the network.

  • Notification bar, then select the Settings icon > scroll to and select General management > select Reset > Reset network settings > Reset settings > select Reset to confirm.

You can also try uninstalling the app and re installing the app to see if that will help with receiving the short code.

Many applications use Two-Factor Authentication to verify your identity. If you've switched your phone or SIM recently, you need to verify your identity with some third party apps like Gmail or PayPal in order to use them. If you do not see the text messages, the steps below may help:

Keep in Mind: Apps like AT&T Call Protect  and ActiveArmor or other 3rd Party Call apps may block unwanted/unidentified numbers. You may need to check the app and remove the numbers if they are listed

Let us know if resetting your network helped.

I am still not able to receive the SMS even after resetting the network setting.

I also verified I do not have any apps like AT&T Call Protect  and ActiveArmor or other 3rd Party Call apps.

I tried uninstalling the Whatsapp and re installing the app and that did not help either.

Thanks @jaideepmathur, we know your WhatsApp is vital. Let's try some other troubleshooting steps to help get it working.

It may be useful to do a quick test to see if you are receiving any other Short Codes:

    • An easy test is to call *3282# like you're making a call. You should receive a free text message from our short code about your data usage.
    • If you have prepaid service with us, use *777# to receive a text back with your account and feature balances.

Please let us know if you don't receive a text back so we can look further into what's happening!
