Old AT&T number now on Comcast
Years ago, my son moved out and we transferred responsibility of our home AT&T line and number to him. He activated the line and number on his Comcast triple play.
Fast forward to now and he is wanting to do away with the landline and number. We have a friend that would like the number. So I have some questions about transferring the number and line responsibility.
Since the line was originally an AT&T number, do we just complete the docs to transfer to him? Or once transfered to Comcast, did the number become theirs?
We need to figure out how to do this now since Comcast is involved. All accounts are up to date.
Thanks

Hi @edcuccia, we understand where you are coming from, and we're here to help you.
We recommend that you contact Comcast and get the transfer of billing responsibility done by them.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

As ATThelp correctly posted, you ported the number. It is assigned to the other carrier now. If you want to do anything with it (other than port it to another provider), you have to ask that carrier how to do it. That includes transferring billing responsiblities, etc. If you want to port it to another provider, you have to ask the new provider how to do the port (along with the requisite information from the current carrier).
