Why is my bill so high for my home service with two Lan Lines!

We have two Landlines in our residence, one for my home office, and one for our home. We have had these numbers and service forever. I was looking at my bill and for one Number I have a charge of $75 a month for "Combined Communication Svcs"?????? The other line has a flat charge of $37.50. Why is one so much more than the other, and how do I reduce that $75 charge. I am paying $130 a month for the services for two lines. Commments?????

If one is listed as a business line it would be more.

It is not to my knowledge.  Both lines are residential.

Sounds like you need to contact billing.

In the last 5 months my land line has gone from $77 to $81 to $ 89 and change a month. Seems att is trying to force ppl onto their digital phone service . I’ve been sent an average of 3 letters a week about it. Digital for $45 month.   I absolutely prefer a landline, if I’m forced off I’ll just get phone service from my internet provider for $27 a month.

Or use a VoIP provider for much less than that.

I empathize with your concern regarding the unexpectedly high charges on your home service bill, particularly the $75 monthly fee for "Combined Communication Svcs" associated with one of your landlines. To address this issue, it is crucial to meticulously review your bill to identify the specific components contributing to the elevated charge. Once you've pinpointed the details, initiate contact with your service provider's customer service to seek clarification on the nature of the fee and gain insights into its origin. Engaging in a conversation with your provider can provide valuable information and help you understand whether the charge is justified or if there are ways to reduce it.

Negotiating with your service provider is a key step in finding a resolution. Inquire about potential promotions, discounts, or package deals that might be available to you. Additionally, explore the possibility of customizing your plan to better align with your needs, eliminating any unnecessary features that could be contributing to the inflated cost. It's essential to communicate your concerns openly and ask for alternative solutions or adjustments to your current plan.

While assessing your options, consider investigating alternative service providers in your area that may offer more competitive pricing or bundled services. Bundling your landlines with other services like internet or television can often result in significant cost savings. Furthermore, evaluating whether your current plan includes any promotions or loyalty rewards for existing customers is crucial, as these can potentially reduce your overall monthly expenses.

In conclusion, addressing the high charges on your home service bill involves a comprehensive review of your current plan, open communication with your service provider, and exploration of alternative options that better suit your needs and budget. By taking these steps, you can work towards optimizing your home service plan and potentially reducing the $130 monthly cost for two landlines.

One of my lines cost me $77.69 includes unlimited long distance and full features like CID.

A basic line without all of the above is $37.50 a month but I do need CID.

AT&T told me they charge $14 a month for CID, or to add other features.

Do I have any alternatives?

How do I add just a basic line with CID only?

You can only get what AT&T is offering if you stick with your traditional landline service.
