AT&T Multi Device Protection Insurance and stolen laptop.

I have the AT&T Multi Device Protection Insurance on my account and got coverage for my laptop, problem is, my laptop was stolen recently and I'm ready to file a claim through AT&T, but I'm not sure what is going to happen, as my laptop is worth more than the $1500 dollars per device value and is also discontinued, the equivalent to my laptop now is worth about 3,500 dollars.

So, I work in an IT department and need a laptop ASAP, what will asurion do in this situation? will they help me buy a new laptop and I cover the difference of the cost? Or should I buy the laptop and AT&T will compensate for the 1,500 dollars difference? 

I read everything up and down and couldn't find anything as per what they do when, or if the device is worth more than 1,500.
