Call/Text (with keyboard) Phone - No internet and Wifi

Hi.  I need your recommendation on a phone.  I realize it might need to be an older or used model.  My wife and I both have iphones but I need to get a basic phone with the following....

-Call and Text Only

-A keyboard or touchscreen for texting would be very helpful!

-micro sd card (to transfer from current phone so I can keep my number?)

-No internet brower or internet connectivity

-No wifi

-Camera (the more MP the better)

Help!  What phone would you get?

Hello @Tonydavid!

I will be happy to help with a recommendation! Awesome question!

After doing some research, it does look like we offer a few phones without Wi-Fi access. I currently see the AT&T Cingular Flip and the LG B470. You can view these phones by going to our Wireless Shop and choosing Basic phones at the bottom.

The phones that we offer do have access to data, however you will be able to block this from the account level so that the phone is unable to take advantage.

As for the camera, the LG B470 has a 1.3 MP camera, and the AT&T Cingular Flip has a 2 MP.

You will be able to keep your number by activating the new SIM card to your current account. We do have a ton of other great phones as well with more features such as SD card slots and touchscreen, however they are Wi-Fi capable. You can always turn this along with data off though!

Check out our Device Support Center for instructions. After selecting your make and model, choose Tutorials > Connectivity.

Let us know what other questions you have! Thank you so much and have a great day!

Thank you for this helpful reply.

How would I turn off data?  Is there a way to turn data off for a device so that only another person (authorized account holder) can turn it on?  I don't want the phone's user to be able to turn on the data.

Hello @Tonydavid!

Great question! I will be happy to help!

You can totally turn off data from your myAT&T account, as long as you have an eligible plan. This will allow you to turn it on or off from the account level. Only people that have access to the online account will be able to do this.

Check out our support article for turning data off or on for eligible devices!

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a wonderful day!
