Connection says weak security

After connection to my wireless router box, my phone says the wifi has "weak security" and the connection does not work..It says to switch to WPS2(AES) or WPS3 but I am unable to do that...I read to change network name and password but I am also unable to do that...

HELP

Been on the phone with 6 AT&T reps and none of them help...been hung up on twice...

Okay, I am not conversant with the user interface of that hotspot.  You will need to connect to it and change the Wi-Fi security setting to a WPA2 setting.  Once you have done that, your clients should connect in a secure fashion.

The users manual is available here for assistance:

I have tried to do that but there's no connection on the box to provide internet to even complete any of that.. It says the weak security thing and will not load anything.

Do you have a Laptop or something you could connect to the Ethernet jack on the back of the MF279?

I do but when I attempted to do that the internet wouldn't work...It said the weak security thing again. I feel like there's no actual cure for this because I have tried everything I can think of!

Huh?  How would you get a weak Wi-Fi security message when connected via an Ethernet cable?

I’m sorry it actually said “not secure network” on my laptop

That may be because you're using a local IP address and there's not a certificate for that.  Can you share a screenshot of that message?
