How to return lost phone to owner?

Hello, today my father found a phone on the side of the road. And we need help returning the phone to it's owners.  The screen is completely cracked and doesn't light up anymore but we were able to open the SIM card and saw it was an AT&T phone. I know that in usual circumstances we could just drop off the phone at the local AT&T store but I think my local store only takes appointments now. What can I do?

Thank you for your inquiry, @kimtaehyung!

We want to help you return the phone your father found to its rightful owner. Currently, the only way to report a lost device is to drop it off at your nearest AT&T Store.

We hope this info helps.

I imported I locked AT&t phone from the US (I am currently outside the US). When I started the unlocking process the website said that the device was reported as lost or stolen. What should I do now?

@dburstin Nothing you can do except try and get your money back.  AT&T isn’t going to unlock someone else’s lost or stolen phone for you.  It’s worthless.
