Just looking for a phone number for a live, knowledgeable human about prepaid and use in Canada
It SHOULDN'T be this difficult.
I'm trying to reach a human being at AT&T that actually KNOWS something about prepaid plans for a router or hotspot and data in Canada.
So far, I've found stores that are closed, stores that don't answer the phone, and ONE store that told me "We're not trained at all on anything to do with prepaid. The BEST thing to do is LOOK UP the phone number for prepaid."
Unfortunately, THAT number dumps you into a robot loop demanding your AT&T phone number. Which I don't have 'cause I'm NOT an AT&T customer yet.
SO...... Anybody got a fer-real phone number that connects to a live human that can actually provide useful information?

Any official company statement will be listed on the website, anything else is script readers for tier 1 (customer) support.
Plans outside the US using data will be cell phone plans… to my knowledge, not hotspot.

If wanting device (router) hotspot usage in Canada will need to purchase a local plan in Canada.

I FINALLY got through (2 hour wait and had to give it the phone number for the hotspot) to a person who had information...........
In Canada, with AT&T - NO HOTSPOTS. NO ROUTERS. NO NOTHING BUT A CELL PHONE. I'm completely baffled by all the people elsewhere that keep telling me AT&T is "THE BEST" for data in Canada...... To do ANYTHING, I'd have to get a Sim, put it in a compatible phone, and pay $50 per 25GB of data. NOT EVEN CLOSE to a bargain.
My current plan IS TO GET A PLAN IN CANADA. Unfortunately, SO FAR, everything is FINE 'til they tell me I HAVE TO HAVE A CANADIAN ADDRESS. I'm thinking I just give 'em the campground address in Banff.
