Motorola Tundra--charging problem

Motorola Tundra VA76r  

My husband has used Motorola Tundra for years.    He has been accustomed to a battery charge lasting about three days.  He does not use a memory card.  This new phone has to be charged every night.  I have read that sometimes the SIM connector can be a problem.  Does anyone have advice or experience concerning this problem? Thanks for your help!
