Traveling abroad and FaceTime/Facetime audio works but not regular calls.
I’m traveling abroad and I’m able to call using FaceTime and FaceTime Audio but I’m unable to make a regular call via the mobile selection from a contact. I’m not connected to any Wi-Fi but I am able to see my Weather app and watch YouTube videos but it seems as if only mobile calls cannot be done because they go to “call failed “immediately. Has this occurred to anyone before?

Do you have international Day pass on your line? Using data for phone calls is going to get mighty expensive if you're not covered for $12 per day.
The United Arab Emirates and mainland China do not permit calls over data or internet calling. So FaceTime might revert to a regular voice call.

I have an elite plan covering the phone while it’s in the country. Plan includes unlimited talk text and data.

Are your contacts phone numbers stored in the international format? For example, +14085551212 should work, but (408) 555-1212 or even 1 (408) 555-1212 might not.
