Xperia Z4

I am planning on upgrading my phone to an Xperia Z4, however since AT&T dosen't carry the phone I'll have to buy an unlocked version. Will this cause any complications I should know about?

just check the celluar and LTE bands when its released for sale.  As long as they match you should be good to go.

And as long as the OP doesn't tell AT&T about the phone switch 🙂

does not matter anymore(for most phones).  You can pretty much bring anything now.  Just use there IMEI checker on the BYOP page.  I had them enter the imei to the tmobile note 4 im using for testing.

My personal experience with AT&T is such that unless something is not working already you're better off not telling them about any switches. Case in point: we got my mother-in-law a smartphone (AT&T one to boot) a little while after we switched to an MSV plan. The data was not working with her old SIM, so I had to go in and get her a new SIM. You'd think it's a simple enough operation that nothing would break? Yet they somehow managed to mess up things so that my wife's iPhone lost the ability to FaceTime. When we went back a second time to fix that it turned out that while they were changing the IMEI on my mother-in-law's line they also changed something on my wife's line. So my advice still stands — as long as things work, do not tell AT&T 🙂
